Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun

Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun

The famous Teluk Intan chee cheong fun, no matter where it is sold all over Teluk Intan, will most likely come from one of the handful chee cheong fun factory that looks like the above.

All factories start making the chee cheong fun mostly in the evening and  throughout the night, and these factories supplies chee cheong fun for the whole Teluk Intan. These chee cheong fun are delivered to the sellers in rectangular stainless steel boxes, which can be seen at all chee cheong fun sellers.

So, it doesn't matter which coffeeshop or hawker stall is selling chee cheong fun for breakfast, chances are that, they come from the same factory, and the only difference would be the sauce that the vendor pour on it.

Chee Cheong Fun Factory

The chee cheong fun wrapped in newspaper is bought at Liew Kee in Jalan Hill, the most popular chee cheong fun supplier in Teluk Intan. Chee cheong fun are best eaten hot, as the white skin will give you the melt-in-your-mouth sensation whereas the fillings explode with every chew, leaving a myriad of salty, tangy and crunchy mouthfeel. Steaming hot chee cheong funs are mostly sold wrapped in newspaper.

These are the few places that sells freshly made chee cheong fun:

Liew Kee at Jalan Hill (a small lane that joins Jalan Pasar and Jalan Bedamar) - takeaway only
Sam Siu Yeh at Jalan Sultan Abdullah - available for dine in

[...] nuffnang_bid = "09da891ccf06ff65c43576e0c980796f"; Rojak is the typical Asian salad with bean sprouts, water convulvus, cucumber, turnips, pineapples and tropical fruits tossed in sticky, sweetish and savoury dark sauce that you either love or hate, though methinks most people who had ever taste rojak will love it! If you are a rojak lover too, remember Ah Chai, the famous rojak in Teluk Intan. Its a must eat if you are in town, in addition to chee cheong fun! [...]
