Mo Shan Kia Bak Kut Teh @ Jalan SS 14/2, Subang Jaya

Pork trotters bak kut teh.

I hope you guys are not going to go, "Oh, no! Another bak kut teh post!", because I know there is a barrage of bak kut teh posts lately (with more coming!) and I categorize them under Bak Kut Teh 肉骨茶 for the sake of convenience.

Situated along the same of of shop houses as Chuan Chew Bak Kut Teh, this Mo Shan Kia Bak Kut Teh is the latest addition of bak kut teh outlet to that area. The interior was nicely furnished, with air conditioner and induction cooker to cook hot water with.

They have a menu for ease of ordering, and upon enquiry they do not cook the bak kut teh in house, but instead, supplies were sent from their main outlet from Klang. Their bak kut teh is served in porcelain bowl instead of claypot.

Pork belly bak kut teh.

Each individual portion starts from RM9.00++ depending on the part of the pig. One bowl is equivalent to one serving. Each serving comes with pork, and a modest amount of soup. Additional soup upon request.

Soft bone bak kut teh.

Sour vegetable.

It was the rainy season, and the main reason we eat bak kut teh is for the warmth, but sadly, the bak kut teh was lukewarm upon arrival, and the air conditioner didn't help. Not all the portions taste consistent. Some bowls tasted better while some are just plain bland. We found that the trotters we ordered were better than the soft bone and pork belly. I suppose having them sent from somewhere else instead of cooking somewhere else affects the taste of the dish.
